Background
I spent my formative years living the country life in rural Warwickshire and Oxfordshire in central England. Even from a young age I enjoyed spending time exploring and playing in the great outdoors and while growing up was fortunate enough to have been able to travel to a variety of international destinations, instilling in me a sense of adventure which to this day has not waned.
In 2003 I received my first pocket Pentax digital camera at about the same time I was due to start studying at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. As I progressed with my M.A. in Art History, I found myself increasingly drawn towards modules which included photography and started to appreciate the medium as something more than just a means of recording memories. I started to realise I had a personal way of seeing the world which I wanted to explore further through photography, and by the end of 2007 had progressed to my first Canon D-SLR camera in search of greater creative control over the kind of images I wanted to make. I have not looked back since. |

I think beauty can be found everywhere, from the colours in the most intense sunrise right down to the lines and textures of the smallest, most seemingly mundane of inanimate objects. I can only hope to capture a portion of it and will always strive (and probably fail) to do justice to the staggering aesthetics of nature and the world of which it is a part. But in trying, I hope to at least give you a good view of some of the scenes which have become a part of my view of the world… I guess my ultimate goal is to inspire others to look beyond the obvious and appreciate some of the details in life, as they can help to make it that much richer of an experience. Hope you enjoy the photos!
